以極不嫻熟的駕駛技術穿梭在車流中的三只花栗鼠——頑皮的艾文、聰明的賽門、小可愛喜多在一連串的誤會之后，決定驅車前往紐約尋找他們的主人戴夫，并且阻止戴夫的求婚。三天后，來到戴夫的party上的三只花栗鼠放棄了這個愚蠢的想法，并且在戴夫的派對上狂歡，帶領眾人唱起了“火星人”布魯諾•瑪斯的熱門單曲“Uptown Funk”，將本就活躍的派對氣氛推向高潮。然而，狂歡過后的三只花栗鼠卻要面臨一個困難的抉擇——接受戴夫同父異母的兄弟加入他們的生活中，否則將失去戴夫……
